REAL ESTATE INVESTING
The Temporary Home That Became an Investment
The Situation
Our customers had sold their home and had their next home under construction.
They needed somewhere large enough for their family to live in the meantime.
Instead of simply finding a temporary rental or a home that would solve an immediate problem, we started thinking about what that property could do for them after they moved out.
The Team Territo Strategy
We helped them identify a home that worked for their family in the short term while also having the characteristics we believed could make it a strong short-term rental later.
They purchased the property in 2020 for:
$655,000
Once their new home was complete, they moved out and converted the property into a short-term rental.
The home generated rental income while also benefiting from appreciation.
The Result
Purchased in 2020: $655,000
Sold in 2026: $1,160,000
Increase in Sale Price: $505,000
That appreciation came in addition to the short-term rental income the property generated during their ownership.
When it was time to sell, they returned to Team Territo, allowing us to represent them on both the purchase and eventual sale.
Why Representation Mattered
Sometimes a home purchase should solve more than today's need.
We understood what this family needed immediately, but we also evaluated the property through an investor lens.
The result was a home that served their family first — and then became an income-producing asset.
